College isn’t worth it when grads lack basic grammar/spelling abilities

6 Dec

I recently read an article on yahoo about a college grad who took out the maximum amount possible ($200,000) in LOANS for a degree in SOCIOLOGY! While she WAS a complete idiot for taking that much money out for a useless degree, the comments below the article were what frustrated me the most.
Most comments read something like: “your an ideot I went to colege for only 11000 dollars and I has a degree in engineering.”
WHY don’t college students know the difference between “your” and “you’re”???? WHY is their spelling so atrocious when they can use SPELL CHECK??? AMERICA, THIS IS EMBARRASSING! Our country must have some of the stupidest college grads EVER!!! If you plan on going to college, then PLEASE LEARN BASIC GRAMMAR!
I admit that my grammar is not flawless, but even I know the basics behind using apostrophes (your vs. you’re, it’s vs. its).
